The Piano Gallery – Art Deco Range
We have a lovely and unique set of Art Deco Pianos in the shop with us this week. You can take a look at these and their original, sometimes unusual features below. If you would like to enquire about any of these unique pianos, or come take a look at them in person please head to our appointment page to book.
This is a 1937 Kemble Art Deco upright piano. Do you notice the chrome legs and “candlestick holders”? These ones do not hold candles, they hold lightbulbs! The original wiring can still be seen inside the piano, completely obsolete of course, but it adds to its authenticity. The matching Art Deco stool is also wonderful, mirroring the design of the piano.

Next we have a rather retro Kemble Minx from 1967. Can you see the pattern in the burr walnut? It looks like a cat to us!
Compact design, and beautiful patterned veneer.

Here is an Art Deco Bentley bungalow from 1938.
Finished in a walnut veneered case, with zebra wood banding. Like Art Deco architecture, the style is often geometric, with simple lines.

Lastly, this is a Boyd London original Art Deco model from the 1930’s period. Notice the stepped detail at the top of the cabinet. Just like the Rockefeller Centre …only a little shorter!
Another wonderful example of beautiful figured walnut veneer, and compact design.
